On drawing and art.

I'm not much of an artist - For a sample of my work, see the illustration I made of a dinosaur for a co-worker's college newspaper story in 2007. In fact, even using the word "artist" for me is generous, since it looks more like the scribblings of a 7-year-old.

However, in college, I did draw a weekly comic for about the last two months or so of school. I'm a firm believer that to be funny, something has to be supremely good, or supremely bad but everyone playing it completely serious.

I always treated the comic, which is appropriately titled The Greatest Comic Ever Ever, in this manner. I never introduced it, and I just printed it as if it was a real comic. This was partly because I was hoping someone would write in and offer to do their own comic, because mine was so bad, but that never happened. Instead, it got a decent response, since bad, horrifically drawn characters can be as amusing as really awesome art.

All of this is a bit of a rambling entry for this announcement - Starting next Saturday, at the usual update time of 8 p.m., I'll be restarting The Greatest Comic Ever Ever.
